The 2015 Les Paul Traditional is Gibson USA's only guitar with hand wiring, no weight relief and the thickest neck making it the most traditional Les Paul in the 2015 lineup. There's been a whole bunch of improvements for this model in 2015 that differentiate it from the last couple of incarnations of USA Les Paul Traditionals- first up has to be the amazing machineheads. Eight years in development, the new Gibson G FORCEGäó improves on the innovations introduced in Min-ETuneGäó with simplified ease of use, an enhanced feature set, and increased speed. Standard on most 2015 models, Gibson G FORCEGäó provides the best and simplest experience yet in an automatic tuning system.

Other changes to the neck include the Zero Fret Adjustable Nut (patent applied for). Zero frets have been around for many years but this one is unique in that it increases sustain, promotes accurate intonation, and improves action by offering a wide range of nut adjustments- you can raise and lower action very easily. Also there is a wider neck and fingerboard which increases playing comfort for hammer-ons, pull-offs, and bends, yet retaining the same string spacing retains a familiar, consistent feel. There is a thicker, one-piece rosewood fingerboard which increases mass and extends sustain. A new, unique oil-treated buffing process gives the fingerboard a silkier feel. And the classic trapezoid inlays are now made from genuine Mother of Pearl.

Electronics-wise the new Alnico #2 1959 Tribute Humbuckers give classic humbucker tone with historically "unmatched" bobbin windings for vintage humbucker tone with enhanced highs. The unbalanced windings are similar to the Burstbucker except with the coil offset reversed (the screw coil has more winds than slug coil). The internal connections are use thicker, stranded wire that provides more surface area for signal fidelity. And for the guitar's output a re-designed jack houses a more secure, multipoint connection for better signal transfer and holds cables more firmly in place.

Other cool features include a removable scratchplate- take it off without leaving any holes in the body! On the back of the headstock there's a little hologram of Les Paul to honour what would have been his 100th birthday. The 2015 Les Paul Traditional has a new comprehensive setup and PLEK program which, combined with a lower fret height, provides a silky smooth feel, accurate intonation and slick string bending. And the guitar ships in a new and improved hardshell case which greatly upgrades the strength and protection. Made to withstand an up to 15-foot drop (up to four times more resistant to drops than other cases), the tough, ergonomic, moulded exterior and cushioned interior provide maximum protection as well as insulation from temperature and humidity extremes.
